International Civil Society Support (ICSS)
International Civil Society Support’s (ICSS) goal is to develop and implement a comprehensive civil society HIV/AIDS agenda, that is owned and driven by civil society stakeholders. ICSS aims to support civil society in strengthening their own response to HIV/AIDS and in strengthening the response of national governments and international institutions in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. Within the LAASER HIV/AIDS program, ICSS is responsible for coordinating roundtable discussions that serve to provide opportunities for systematic learning and cooperation for civil society organizations active in the field of access to treatment and care.
Roundtable Process
The Roundtable Process (RTP) aims to improve the response to HIV/AIDS through the establishment of an informal, results-oriented process, bringing together civil society experts around themes identified by themselves.
The RTP is an opportunity for stakeholders to:
- Meet, learn, share and think;
- Establish continuity in shared efforts;
- Establish collaboration based on comparative strengths;
- Further develop a civil society advocacy agenda in a systematic way;
- Create scale where needed (in procurement, advocacy etc);
reach out more effectively to other stakeholders (including governments); - Create a stronger and shared voice;
- Seek for additional funding collaboratively
