PharmAccess Foundation
PharmAccess Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to sustainable and quality-controlled basic health care, including AIDS treatment in resource-limited settings, primarily Africa. PharmAccess Foundation offers services and programs focused at:
- Assessing and upgrading clinics and laboratories;
- Strengthening medical administrators (insurances, HMO’s, TPA’s);
- Training of medical, laboratory and administrative staff;
- Improving access to medicines;
- Monitoring and evaluating health care programs, supporting health insurances;
- Performing operational research
The PharmAccess African Studies to Evaluate Resistance (PASER) is directly linked to the LAASER HIV/AIDS program.
PharmAccess African Studies to Evaluate Resistance (PASER)
PharmAccess African Studies to Evaluate Resistance (PASER) enables regional capacity building on laboratory testing, clinical monitoring of acquired and transmitted HIV drug resistance in up to 10 countries across southern, east and west Africa. PASER consists of four integral components:
- HIV drug resistance monitoring; prospective cohort studies in patients on HAART in selected clinical sites;
- HIV drug resistance surveillance; cross-sectional surveys to evaluate resistance transmission;
- Quality Assurance Laboratory Network;
- Clinical Observational Database (to effectively inform clinicians, publich health specialists and policy makers on optimal ART program practices and guidelines)
